
Indian Wells is the smallest of the Coachella Valley communities with 5,165 residents (2010 census); it’s by far the most affluent population in the valley. The city was incorporated July 1967. There are many resort hotels, golf courses and luxury residential areas.The large estate homes here are very private, and the country clubs very exclusive. This community is truly a playground for the rich and famous.
Several major tennis and golf sporting events are held each year in Indian Wells. The city hosts the fifth largest tennis tournament in the world. It’s presently known as the BNP Paribas Open. Their tennis – specific stadium is currently the second largest in the world.
In March 2017 the average housing price for all residential properties was $1,268,000. Condo prices average $344,000 and single family homes $1,844,000.
Per capita income is reported at $81,359 with a median household income of $85,000.
