With the community of Palm Springs as its northern gateway, The Coachella Valley extends from the San Bernardino Mountains for about 60 miles down to the Salton Sea. The Coachella Valley communities form a ribbon flowing in this southeasterly direction, from Palm Springs to Indio, with the exception of Desert Hot Springs which is situated on the northeast side of the valley. The valley is bounded to the west by the majestic 10,833 ft. San Jacinto Mountains, and the Santa Rosa Mountains, to the east by the Little San Bernardino Mountains, and off to the southeast, the Chocolate Mountains. The valley is about 15 miles wide, along the majority of its length. The Coachella Valley is a northwest extension of the Sonoran Desert.
The Coachella Valley is one of the fastest-growing areas in the country, due to several factors – our proximity to Los Angeles and San Diego, and the relatively affordable prices on Palm Springs real estate, at least by California standards, with properties for sale in Palm Springs and the valley still low. Add to that our laid back life style, and our wonderful sunny, dry weather. All these factors draw like a magnet, attracting ever increasing numbers of new residents and tourists to our beautiful valley.
